HID stands for High Intensity Discharge. It
is a bulb which is filled with gas, once the gas
heats up to a certain degree, it produces a
light color. The degrees are measured in Kelvin
due to the fact that they are so hot. HID is the
same thing as xenon lights, which are sold on
many luxury cars. TOP
3)
Installation
can usually take anywhere between 20 minutes to
an Hour, depending on you car. Some cars need
their bumpers to be taken off in order to get to
the headlight. Some cars usually have an air
intake in the way or above the headlight, which
can usually be taken off with a socket wrench.
Check your cars manual to find out how to
install headlights. TOP

The McCulloch & Alpha HID Kits, do not require any
splicing or cutting of wires. The kits are
complete plug and play units which come with
wiring which is of ample amount in length; so
that you are able to mount your ballasts and
igniters in different areas. TOP
5)
All wiring and ballast should be safely
secured because many of the cars engine
compartments parts heat up to great temperatures
which can damage the wiring and ballasts. Also
to make sure the parts do not dangle and hit
things as you drive, potentially breaking the
system. TOP
6)
You can check you cars manual, most manuals
list the different types of lights your car
uses, or you may visit Piaa.com
and enter your
cars year, type and model. TOP
7)
When choosing a kit for you car, you should
take in a couple factors in to consideration,
such as your environment, your budget, your use
for the lights and more. If you live in an area
where there are not too many street lights or a
woods are you might want to consider a kit which
offers the most light (4300K or 5300K Kit). If you live
in the city and would like a kit which can make
your car stand out from the rest, you might want
to purchase and of the kits which are colored
(6000K 8000K 10000K or 12000K). TOP

(McCulloch Only) The wiring harness is an elaborate harness
which runs from your battery, to your HID kit
and to your stock wiring harness. It helps
control the amount of power going to the
ballasts and it makes sure the stock wiring
harness will not be damaged. This was the
ballasts receive a steady stream of power and
the stock wiring only acts as control unit and
not a power source. TOP
9)
Kits taken off of other vehicles are not made
to fit in yours, even if both of you have the
same model and year. The kits are made
specifically for a HID light housing and will
not work or fit correctly with you housing. Also
you will not be able to produce the same color
light as those vehicles did, your headlights
will give out a yellowish white color. TOP
10)
Shipping usually takes anywhere between 7-10
Days, there are times when the lights can come
in 4 days or even 14 days. If an unreasonable
amount of time goes by and you have not received

In 2002 the DOT banned the sale of HID
lights, due to the fact that "light is
scattered", "glares affected other
drivers", "were improperly
focused." HID lights should be used for
off-road and show purposes only. The lights
should and have to be properly aligned, please
look in your manual, it should be listed under
leveling or adjusting. TOP
12)
If your light flickers, it could be one of a
couple things. Usually it is because your car is
not started. It takes time for your cars ECU to
adjust to the addition if higher powered lights;
that's why you should have your car started in
the first few weeks of the kit. Another reason,
could be your fuses, many people have upgraded
to 20A fuses for their headlights. TOP
13)
If a light does not go on, check it on the
other side, go through the wiring to see the
problem. If it still does not work try to
upgrade the fuses or contact us for assistance. TOP

Getting an aftermarket kit to look like an
OEM Xenon Kit which is found on BMWs and other
luxury cars is not always possible. The HID
lights themselves on those cars are worth
upwards of $1000. The reason they come out in
blue and purple colors is mainly because of the
projector in the headlight. They are designed to
make the color of the bulb which is a yellowish
white color appear blue or purple. This is done
by lightly tinting the projector and bending the
light. Most aftermarket head light housings are
not designed that way. TOP
